This new stagweber CoolAir filter system is designed especially for the Weber 38, and includes a readily available replaceable air filter element. 

More Power: The unique, low-profile CoolAir filter system connects to the original cool air intake duct above the radiator using the original rubber bellows (NOTE: not present on early models). Since cool air is heavier this means that a greater mass (weight) of air can enter the engine to increase power and torque. Also, K&N list a filter element of a suitable size which can be fitted as a further upgrade.  

Low Profile: The CoolAir box can accommodate a variety of shapes and sizes of air filter element from around 42 mm high to over 50mm high.  Using a low height air filter element helps with under-bonnet clearance, even with the original pad and bar arrangement fitted. *The overall filter height of the Weber version equals the chosen filter element height plus 3mm for the box thickness. The Holley version has a flat baseplete, and so the plate may not clear the Holley carburettor body without a spacer or riser, which can be purchased from Holley agents or ebay.    Note that engine heights vary from car to car which affects available underbonnet space.
